Just prior to 2:00pm, Butler 911 dispatched the first alarm assignment into Cranberry Twp. for smoke in the building. With the snow falling, Engine 42 went enroute. Lt21-2 arrived on location as the Engine was coming into Cranberry and held the assignment to just Cranberry. As the Engine was returning to quarters, it was alerted for a priority medical in Adams Pointe and responded to provide patient care until EMS arrived. By this point, the snow had been falling and roads were becoming quite slick. As the Engine was returning to quarters again, Allegheny County 911 alerted for a multi-vehicle crash in Pine Twp. Engine 42 arrived on location of 4 separate crashes in the span of a quarter mile and assisted Wexford units.

After midnight, Harmony Fire District upgraded an alarm activation after arriving to a working fire in a senior care facility. This brought Tower 42 and Engine 42-3 on the run. Tower 42 arrived seconds behind Tower 21 and stacked behind them per command to cover the rear of the building. Crews assisted with interior operations and evacuation of residences. The sprinkler system and quick work by the first arriving Engine Company from Harmony held the fire to the room of origin.
