On Tuesday March 30, the AAFD went to the Public Safety Training Center at Butler County Community College to evaluate different makes and models of various thermal imaging cameras being considered for purchase by the District. We utilized the burn building, putting 5 different cameras through their paces. We compared the cameras in many different scenarios, analyzing clarity and field of view, refresh rates, sensitivity modes, thermal layering, convection currents, and anything else we could think of.

The AAFD would like to extend our thanks to the BC3 Public Safety Training Center for use of the facilities and all of the representatives from the various companies for the demo cameras. An educational and fun night was had by all.
