Just after 4:00am this morning crews were sent to a home on Old Orchard Court in the Treesdale neighborhood of the township for a reported chimney fire. Crews arrived within minutes to the home owner reporting a light smoke condition in the basement. An attack line was pulled as precaution and E-42 began to investigate. A quick search revealed heavy smoke in the basement with a working fire behind the walls. Fire had gotten into the wall space above the mantle of a refinished decorative stone fireplace built as an encasement around the old existing brick fireplace. Crews worked for roughly an hour, containing the fire damage to only the fireplace area.
