Late this afternoon at 5:31:51pm Stations 42, 19 (Callery), and 76 (Quality EMS) were alerted for a two vehicle MVC at the intersection of Mars-Valencia and Brickyard Roads. Rescue Engine 42-2 (RE-2) was enroute in under 3 minutes at 5:34:06. RE-2 arrived on scene at 5:35:31 to find a two vehicle MVC with moderate front end collision damage and EMS on scene beginning to assess the patients.

Captain Mellinger established Mars-Valencia Road command and with adequate manpower on-scene assigned all other incoming units to shut down access to the roadway by request of Adams Twp. PD for accident investigation in the following locations:

E-19 - Crowe Ave @ Pittsburgh St and Mars-Valencia Rd
Sq-19 - Mars-Valencia Rd @ Route 228
RE42-3 - Mars Valencia Rd @ Grand Ave
FP42 - Brickyard Rd @ Clay and Spring Ave

Quality EMS Medic Units 76-2 and 76-3 transported both patients to area hospitals for treatment.

RE-2 performed containment with oil dry due to copious amounts of fluid leaking onto the roadway from both vehicles and assisted in clean-up. After PD finished with their preliminary investigation and both vehicles were cleared from the scene by Classic Automotive, the roadway was re-opened. All units returned to service at 6:15pm.
