On Friday, February 22 the Adams Area Fire District hosted the Medical Considerations for Technical Rescue pre-conference workshop of the 2019 National Collegiate Emergency Medical Services Foundation (NCEMSF) Conference held at the Wyndham Grand Downtown Hotel in the city of Pittsburgh. The workshop was conducted by an amazing and very knowledgeable staff of cadre from Med-Tex Services out of Philadelphia, PA and Ross/West View EMS-Rescue.

While the AAFD merely hosted the event, allowing the use of our classroom and training facilities without actively participating in the training, the members on hand for the day to assist with any needs of the instructors and students kept our eyes and ears open, gaining some valuable insight from the informative lectures and skills stations.

The skills stations students were presented with included a confined space/limited access scenarios utilizing our training manhole access, rappelling from our rigging platform, and a horizontal line system from our training mezzanine window and across the bays. It gave the officers on hand a myriad of training ideas for the upcoming months.

Thank you to the NCEMSF, Med-Tex Services, and the Ross/West View EMS-Rescue for considering our HQ for your workshop, and we hope to host you again for any of your future needs.
