This evening members from Callery Station 19 and Evans City Station 20 along with Adams Area Captain Doug Mellinger were recognized by AHN Pre-Hospital Care Coordinator Rob Druga with challenge coins for their actions in the field.

On the night of August 30th, the alarm was struck for a reported MVC involving a pickup truck and motorcycle. Callery and Evans City rescuers arrived to find two critically injured patients in the roadway who were ejected from the motorcycle and immediately began providing care. Captain Mellinger arrived and assisted in the assessment, care, and severe bleeding control of one of the patients on the scene and in the ambulance.

A great display of teamwork in the assessment and care of two severely critical multi-system trauma patients at a very hectic and difficult scene resulted in a positive outcome for the patients.
