The Adams Area Fire District was formed out of the consolidation of the Mars Volunteer Fire Company and the Community Volunteer Fire Company of Valencia. In 2005 meetings were held between theses two proud organizations with the intent of improving the provision of fire and rescue services to the Southern Butler County region. By the spring of 2007 these two very individual organizations married into one, becoming the Adams Area Fire District. The services currently provided currently include fire suppression, medical "first response", vehicle and technical rescue, truck company, engine company, and operational hazardous material. We provide inspections and Knox Box community oriented programs.
In 2008 we were proud to be recognized by the State Fire Commissioners' Office as a Gold Participating Service by having 75% of our members certified in firefighting. Furthermore, we are certified by the Pennsylvania Department of Health as a "Certified" First Response Service
