Throwback Time: Old Mars VFC fire hall (see the house siren derrick)

Photo taken sometime between 1940 and 1954, when the newer truck garage was built.
This was the original building owned by the Mars VFC, acquired in 1938. It had one garage bay until 1942, when an addition was built on the south end.
Note the B & O RR steam locomotive and the Mars RR station, at its original location along Marshall Way. The building was moved south several hundred yards in circa 2000, to become the Mars Area History Museum.
